Convenient new alternative for renewing completion of the Heartsaver CPR/AED course! This updated release of the Web-based eLearning course provides Part 1, the online portion of the Heartsaver CPR/AED course. It includes a series of modules that cover all required sequences.
Those who successfully complete Part 1 receive a certificate that allows them entrance to a skills validation session with an AHA BLS instructor at When Seconds Count, Inc. An AHA course completion card will be issued by When Seconds Count, Inc. which is an AHA training center when both parts are successfully completed.
The Heartsaver CPR/AED course is intended for all individuals who have a duty to respond to a cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements, including:
It is also appropriate for lay rescuers who may have a need to respond to an emergency in the workplace, family members of patients at high risk for sudden cardiac death, or those who just want to learn this important lifesaving skill.
After successfully completing this course, students will be able to:
· Describe how high-quality CPR improves survival
· Explain the concepts of the Chain of Survival
· Recognize when someone needs CPR
· Perform high-quality CPR for an adult
· Describe how to perform CPR with help from others
· Give effective breaths by using mouth-to-mouth or a mask for all age groups
· Demonstrate how to use an AED on an adult
· Perform high-quality CPR for a child*
· Demonstrate how to use an AED on a child*
· Perform high-quality CPR for an infant*
· Describe when and how to help a choking adult or child
· Demonstrate how to help a choking infant*
Your eCard will be issued upon successful completion of your course.
