HeartCode BLS is the AHA’s blended learning online method for the BLS course. Blended learning is a combination of eLearning, in which a student completes part of the course in a self-directed manner, followed by a hands-on session. Designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-facility and prehospital settings.

EMTs, Firefighters, Police Officers, Paramedics, Physicians, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Dental Hygenists, Nursing Students, Pharmacists.

This course uses a personalized adaptive algorithm that sets students on the most efficient path to mastery. Students follow a continuously adapting learning path that is personalized by their own inputs: their performance, and their self- reported confidence level related to each probing question. The course content is presented in the form of self-directed learning content, probing questions, and Cognitive Assessment Activities (CAAs).

Those who successfully complete Part 1 receive a certificate that allows them entrance to a live in person skills validation session with an AHA BLS instructor at When Seconds Count, Inc. An AHA course completion eCard will be issued when both parts have been successfully completed. When Seconds Count, Inc. which is a Nationally Recognized AHA Training Center.
