As an AHA Instructor, you’ll be essential in training others to respond effectively during emergencies. If you’re dedicated to helping others, enjoy teaching, and thrive in group settings, this is your chance to join a community of professionals committed to saving lives.

To get started, you’ll need to have a current eCard for your chosen course. After that, the journey to becoming an AHA Instructor includes three exciting stages:

1. Instructor Essentials (Online)– Get started with a self-paced, online course that covers the basics of teaching AHA courses.
   
   
2. Instructor Course (Classroom)– Join a faculty-led, in-person training session to dive deeper into the skills and knowledge you’ll need to teach.
   
   
3. Mentored Instruction– Take the spotlight as you lead your first course, guided by an experienced AHA instructor from When Seconds Count to ensure you’re ready for all of your future courses!

Complete all three stages, and you’ll earn your AHA Instructor eCard, valid for two years, and gain the tools to make a lasting impact in your community.

What’s Included in Instructor Essentials?

The online Instructor Essentials course is a required part of the training for all new instructors and is the first step in your training process. It is packed with key knowledge you need to teach AHA courses effectively.   This stage includes:
